The Holbrook’s Executive Chef Caters Dinner for the Governor
Alpharetta, Ga. March 4, 2010- Christopher Harwell, Executive Chef for The Holbrook of Lake Lanier, and his team had the honor of catering a buffet for the Governor and other honorable constituents during The Arts Council, Inc dinner event held before the performance of A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline in Gainesville on February 24, 2011.
“This was a true honor for The Holbrook to be selected to cater the event for the governor and The Arts Council, said Harwell. “I prepared the menu with The Holbrook in mind and wanted to represent the community well. There is no “I” in team and I am blessed to be a part of such a wonderful team.”
Harwell’s buffet style dinner served government officials Governor Nathan Deal and his wife Nathan Deal, Representatives Doug Collins and Gladys Wyant, retired federal judge the Honorable Sydney O. Smith and former Hall County Sherriff Dick Mecum.
The menu Harwell and his team created consisted of combination of classic entrees and southern fare prepared with The Holbrook’s signature healthful spin and included baby field greens with raspberry vinaigrette dressing, pecan crusted chicken with an orange and cranberry reduction, grilled salmon with a lemon caper beurre blanc, Yukon gold potato gratin, patty pan squash, baby red beets and baby carrots, honey rolls with butter topped off with a blueberry cobbler with whipped cream and pecan caramel toffee mouse cake for dessert.
Governor Deal, a native of Gainesville, and First Lady Sandra Deal attended the function in support of their daughter Katie Deal, who is an accomplished singer and performer, and was headlining the show A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline at Brenau University’s Horsh Theatre at the John S. Burd Performing Arts Center.
